I am not a Robot

So why is it so difficult to prove it?

I post on various blogs and most of them have the word boxes where I have to prove I'm not a robot. Trouble is, it's getting more and more difficult. The letters are squeezed togther more than ever and are blurrier than they used to be. Thank goodness there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of attempts, but there have been times when I have had to try 5 or 6 times to get the right words and numbers!

A newer feature is having a photo of a number that appears to be a house number. These are often the blurriest. (And, yes, I wear my reading glasses!) What is the purpose of making it SO hard at times? I've known people who have tried to post a comment and they've given up, because they just can't match the words and numbers.

All I and my friends want to do is post a nice/funny/insightful comment. It shouldn't be so difficult!

  1. I totally agree with you, Ann. I feel like I'm taking a vision test over and over - and I seem to be failing more often than not.

(You do know that this feature pops up on your blog too, right? And you can opt to turn it off.)

  2. I did not know that this feature was on my blog, but I just turned it off (I think, lol!).

  3. I so get you here. One time I was asked six times (!) to re-enter the gibberish because I didn't type the screwy letter or read the faint numbers right. If only people were angels, we wouldn't need security for anything.

  4. I have so much trouble with those! I have to try several times, too. That's why I made sure my blog doesn't have them.

  5. I took it off, too, but if you don't want the spam to fill your email inbox, make sure you also de-select the option to have new comments emailed to you.

  6. Ha! I was just thinking this when I was posting on another blog. I couldn't figure out if it was a c and l or a d. Sigh.
